Stimmen: A citizen science approach to minority language sociolinguistics

Abstract This paper presents the project Stimmen fan Fryslân ‘Voices of Fryslân’. The relies on a smartphone application developed to involve local communities in creation speech corpora, particularly lesser used languages. lays out scientific and societal context project, showcases gives an overview results from that attracted more than 15,000 users.
